Kerry Madsen is primed to win the second round of the AHG Sprintcar Series at the Perth Motorplex this Saturday night.
Since returning to Australia only a few weeks ago Madsen finished second in the Motorplex opening meeting and then in a different car won a feature race at Brisbane International Speedway last weekend.
92.9 Team owner Geoff Kendrick said given the Mad Man’s form he would go into this Saturday night’s show as a clear favourite.
“Kerry is driving very well at the moment and after coming close here two weeks ago, the only thing that stopped him from winning was a hole in the radiator, he desperately wants to make amends,” Kendrick said.
The 92.9 Kendrick Racing team is looking forward to both Madsen and third-year racer Jason Kendrick both finishing prominently at the end of the 25-lap feature race.
They have the power and equipment at their disposal and as Kendrick pointed out, they also have a lot of corporate support behind the scenes as well.
“We do a lot to showcase our sponsors every time we go racing.”
One of the major backers again this year is Bob Gavranich.
‘Bob bought a truck for us last year and he has built an A trailer for when we go away this year and we would like to sincerely thank him for his support.
“We will have two complete spare cars and ample spares in there as well as living quarters to keep the guys comfortable.”
On the back of that will be the team’s normal trailer with the main race cars and gear.
We would like to welcome aboard Danny Cashman from Degrey Civil & Contracting and thank him for his help this year.
Monster Energy Drinks and Goodyear are two new inclusions and we appreciate their support.
“We are extremely lucky to have Goodyear support direct out of America which will see us test new tyres for the USA market for this coming season.
“Kerry has been involved with Goodyear for a long time and that is a real bonus for our team.”
Kendrick is looking for another podium result this weekend so they can have another chance to thank all their sponsors.
“The bottom line is we worked pretty well as a team in the first night and now we are ready to go one better, so the other teams should be worried.”
