• Next Saturday night (December 8) one of the biggest Speedcar races of the Australian season will be staged as a star studded line up from all points of the country and the USA converge on the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway for the prestigious Tim Crouch Memorial. At this stage a field of 24 drivers have nominated with the driver line-up including the likes of American Alex Bright, defending race Champion Travis “Squizzy” Mills, Western Australian hot shot Scott Glazebrook, multiple Super Series Champion Mark Brown and locals Brock Hallett, Ben Dillon and Ben Hall.

    Along with the Tim Crouch Memorial trophy, the competitors will also be competing for the overall honours in round 2 of the Middy’s Data and Electrical Speedcar Slam Series with Brock Hallett being the current series leader after a dominate display in the opening round in late October.

    The entry list is headed by twenty-one year old Bright, from Collegeville, Pennsylvania, who will drive the potent #92 Spike/Hawk combination for the Ipswich based Polar Ice Jack Berry Racing team. This will be his first visit to the tight Murray Bridge venue but the Polar Ice race team has a great record at the track so it shouldn’t take him long to adapt.

    Western Australia will be well represented with four drivers set to make the trek across with Scott Glazebrook, Bryn Lake, Dean Merrylees and Paul Robinson all nominated. Victoria and New South Wales will also have multiple entries with Travis Mills, Robby Gordon and Andy Pearce from the Garden State while Mark Brown, Tony Abson and Adam Wallis from New South Wales are also expected to challenge for the honours.

    Not to be outdone the locals will be out in force will eleven South Australian entries that will include Queenslander Brock Hallett and former Australian Formula 500 Champion, driving the Trevor Knuckey owned SA #78 while New South Welshman Adam Wallis will pilot the SA # 64 machine previously driven by Peter Ghent Jr.

    Defending Middy’s Slam Series Champion Ben Dillon will be one to watch along with Ben Hall, Todd Bennett and Darryl Knuckey while Jamie Crouch, Tyrone Hart, Kym Cottrell, Nathan Squiers, Norm Moore and Alex Fletcher will also be out to add their name to the winners list.

    The event will feature two rounds of heat races, a top 7 point scores 7 lap “Tim Crouch Super Seven” race to determine the top 7 feature starting positions with a prize pool of $700 and a 25 lap final.

    Throughout the night the drivers will also have a number of incentives to race for including a $100 bonus courtesy of David Grose at Hoolagators All American Di-casts for the first driver to break a track record and the seventh placed driver in the A-Main will receive a new American Racer Tyre from Bill Miller at Blair Athol Auto Parts, ULX oil with offer an oil pack for the hard Charger of the night.
