• Newcastle’s Scotty Cannon is poised to strike in this Saturdays South Australian V8 Dirt Modified Championship and Round 3 of the 5 Star Dirt Series to be held at the Murray’s Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway.

    The 2001 Australian Champion has enjoyed a string of top 5 results in his DJMR Race Engines No 79 Bicknell including a win in the prestigious Mr Modified Series held at The Lismore and Grafton Speedways. “It’s been a while since I last raced at Murray Bridge and I’m really looking forward to getting back there”. Cannon said.


    The inform Cannon has not shared in a Championship win for some time, but this weekend the veteran of V8 Dirt Modifieds is expected to shine. Cannon will take on Australian Champion Brisbane’s Kevin Britten in the No.1 JBR Motorsport Troyer over 3 rounds of Qualifying and an A-Main event to determine who will wear the SA No. 1.

    Queensland Rookie sensation Lee McKinnell driving the Truck and Earth No. 85 Troyer is also expected to figure in the results but will battle Victoria’s Paul Tindal, and Mick Kiraly to get the prize

    The field will also be joined by the only South Australian nomination, Waikerie's Ian Neal driving his No. 61 Chev. Ian will make V8 Dirt Modified history as the oldest rookie to start in a blue ribbon event for the division. Ian is 75 years young.
