• Kaydon Iverson managed to put an end to Liam Williams’ winning streak on Saturday night when he raced to victory in round four of the KRE F500 Championship Series at Gatton’s Lockyer Valley Speedway.

Iverson started out of position two for the 20-lap feature race and managed to get the better of pole-sitter and eventual runner up James Kennedy to score the win, with Williams completing the podium in third and suffering his first defeat in the series so far.

It was a strong result for Bryn Upshall, who finished just off the podium in fourth, while Tomas Partington continued his recent good form to finish fifth. Next across the line was Piper Ogilvie ahead of Cameron Bertuch, who made his debut with a solid seventh-place finish. Glen Douglas came home in eighth, with Robert Kite completing the finishers.

Driving the NSW # 42 car, which is usually piloted by newcomer Ethan Eyears, Nathan Pronger started out of position four by virtue of his strong performance in the heat races and was running strongly until a broken throttle cable forced him onto the infield and ended his winning hopes.

Kennedy asserted his dominance early in the night, coming away with two heat-race wins and a second-place finish, as did Iverson, who won the remaining heat race and scored two second-place finishes behind Kennedy. Williams claimed two thirds and fifth, while Pronger achieved two fourths and a third-place finish.

In the Junior Formula 500s, Tarhlea Apelt was the driving force, winning two of the four heat races. The opening heat race was won by Randy Morgan ahead of Nicholas Whell and Nick Hodges, while Boyd Chaffey was victorious in heat race two, with Dakota Gay and Bodie Smith finishing second and third respectively. Apelt proved unbeatable in heat race three ahead of Hodges and Smith, and then she went on to go back to back in the final heat race ahead of Morgan and Hodges.

The fifth round of the KRE F500 Championship Series will be held at Brisbane’s Archerfield Speedway on the Saturday night of December 10, with the Junior Formula 500s next hitting the track on the Saturday night of December 3 at Archerfield Speedway.
