• Last night Adelaide Motorsport Park at Virginia conducted the second of their planned “Fast Friday” events with a Track Championship Round headlined by round 4 of the JD Couriers Super Series – powered by Adelaide Computer Tax Service, the Speedcars and Wingless Sprints.

The Super Sedan event saw 10 cars front for action but the increased competition couldn’t halt Ryan Alexander’s winning ways as he claimed his third AMP feature event win and his fourth overall this season. Second place went to a fired-up Paul Blenkiron who got the better of Michael Miller to claim his best result this season. Blenkiron also caused a major upset in heat two as he passed Alexander for the win with a tremendous outside passing move for the lead.

Fourth across the line was Steve Schwartz who showed increased speed throughout the night with Kym Jury, Anthony East and Kym Leyson completing the finishers.

A full release of the event will follow from Super Sedans SA shortly.

In what was a dramatic finish to the Speedcar feature Strathalbyn racer Jamie Crouch was declared the winner in the shortened race after Crouch, who was leading at the time, was spun by Victorian Andy Pearce in turn three as they battled for the race lead with both cars spinning. As they blocked the track third placed Brett Ireland had nowhere to go slamming into the V15 and rolling bringing on the red lights.

At that point the race declared with Crouch being declared the winner in his #7 BOSS Chassis ahead of Ireland, Mark Harrington, Norm Moore and Pearce, who was sent to the rear. Earlier Todd Wigzell and Pearce were the heat winners.

With the Wingless Sprints being added to the meeting at short notice it was declared a non-point race but it still attracted an 11-car field with South Australian Champion Joel Chadwick dominating the evening. After finishing second in his opening heat, after starting from the back, he stormed to a heat win in the second preliminary before leading all 20 laps. Dale Gesell continued to impress with another runner-up finish ahead of Spencer Taylor, Anthony Tapley, William Caruso, Aaron Doe, Brad Evans and Darryl Sloan.

The Street Stock feature event saw the Ford’s upfront all evening with Grant Harris and Carey Weston both winning a heat race before Harris won the final by less than a second over Weston, Tony Prideax, Darren Flatman, who was also driving a Ford Falcon, Andrew Hardacre, Jamie Stewart and Darren Pope.

Kooper Greig produced a clean sweep in the Junior Sedans winning all three races in his Hyundai Excel including setting a new 10 lap track record in the opening heat stopping the clocks at 3:17.779 seconds. Second in the final went to Zac Walters with Mitch Greig, Tyson Greig and Lachlan Gywnne completing the top 5.

The next event at Adelaide Motorsport Park will be Saturday December 10 with 410ci Sprintcars, Super Sedans, Speedcars, Street Stocks, Modlites and a crash and bash Demolition Derby.
