• The Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series heads to Premier Speedway Warrnambool this weekend for the Series Grand Final with three drivers Brett Milburn the current Eureka Garages & Sheds Series Champions and current point’s leader, Tim Van Ginneken and Corey McCullagh are the drivers that will battle it out for the 2016-2017 Series Crown.

Once again a big field of nominations has entered for the Eureka Series Grand Final that will make the job for the top three drivers that bit harder to qualify into the A main event. Corey McCullagh would nearly have to clean sweep the night with maximum points to stop either Brett or Tim from taking the Crown but if all three drivers make the Eureka Garages and Sheds Main event that would pretty much eliminated Corey chances.

On the other hand for Brett Milburn and Tim Van Ginneken they both must make the A Main to fight it out for the Crown. Based on the current points lead Milburn has Van Ginneken needs to finish around eight places ahead subject to their heat qualifying points.

Third place in the Series also has three candidates in the running, Corey McCullagh sit third in the standing, Brayden Parr had a good round last weekend at Horsham to move pass Glen Sutherland into fourth place and he is a chance to take third place if he has another good night. Glen Sutherland is only one hundred and twenty points out of third as well so there is plenty to race for and to be decide in the Eureka Garages & Sheds Championship and the final top five places in the Series.

Also on the line for the top ten drivers in the Series that have competed in twelve or more of the Series rounds is the chance to be locked into the KTM Australia draw for a top of the range KTM motorbike as well as many other Series awards.

The eligible drivers that finish outside of the top ten have a chance to take home an extra $1500 thanks to the Western Nissan from Caroline Springs.

The winner of the Series will pocket an extra $10,000 out of the $40,000 plus prize poole money.

While there is so much on the line in this weekend’s Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series for the Series regular competitors it will not be a walk in the park to finish at the pointy end of the A Main when you add in the other main contender nominated for the outright win on the Night it will be one tough night of racings.

With ten drivers nominated that have won one or more rounds of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Series this season headed by Darren Mollenoyux, two times Australian Sprintcar Champion David Murcott and Warrnambool hero Corey McCullagh, these three drivers have won two rounds of the Series each but then throw in another local hero Jamie Veal and Peter Doukas, Tim Rankin, South Australian Glen Sutherland and last round winner Tasmania’s Tim Hutchins, Ian Loudoun all these drivers have taken one of the Series A Mains as well this season.

All the Eureka Garages and Sheds Series regulars from near and far, Scott Reilly, Rod Matthews, Sam Wren, Charles Hunter, Dennis Jones, Jacob Smith, Brad Warren, Terry Kelly, Eddie Lumbar and many others will be at Premier Speedway putting their best foot forward looking to finish the Series off on a high.

Grant Anderson is also nominated and he must be in with a big shot of a top three or even a win on the night. Jack Lee has been doing a limited race program this season but on his last outing at Premier Speedway Jack showed a clean pair of back tires to lead that round of the Eureka Series before Darren Mollenoyux ran him down to take the race win, Jack should be in the mix once again.

One driver that has just returned to sprintcar racing after an early season injury is young Rusty Hickman, Rusty put in a big drive to nearly take a win at the recent Simpson round of the Series before having to settle for second place. Rusty is another young driver of the future to add to the likes of Braydan Parr and Jordyn Charge.

The format will once again be the seeded heat group time trials to set the heat races for the night’s action.

Forty nine nominations have been received at the time of writing and if this Grand Final round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series is half the excitement of the last round conducted at Premier Speedway you will be in for another special night of the best Sprintcar racing in the country.

One thing is for sure that there are so many drivers that are real chances of taking out the Eureka Garages and Sheds A Main it will be very difficult to pick a winner. But for Brett Milburn and Tim Van Ginneken along with Corey McCullagh these drivers would love nothing more than to take the A Main win but the 2016-2017 Eureka Garages and Sheds Series Crown would mean more.

Just to add something special to the event the place getters on the night will be presented with the trophies by the long time naming rights Series Sponsor Eureka Garages & Sheds principal, Domenic Sabatino.
