• The 2016-17 season was an impressive one for Corey McCullagh and it recently concluded with a third-place finish in the overall Easter Sprintcar Trail point standings.

McCullagh wrapped up his third place in the final Easter Trail point standings with a third- place finish on the podium for the third and final round at his home track: Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway.

With Premier Speedway being McCullagh’s best performance over the three rounds, one of the keys for him was being able to qualify on the inside of the fourth row out of position seven. In the previous two rounds, Borderline Speedway and Avalon Raceway, he had to
fight his way from the back (positions 15 and 16) of the feature-race field to come home in ninth and sixth place respectively.

“My Easter Trail run was an awesome way to wrap up what has been a great season,” commented the Vic # 90 Warrnambool RV & Caravan Centre / Owenbuilt Homes supported Maxim driver.

“We did it a bit tough in the opening two rounds with qualifying further down the order for the feature races, but we dug deep and came away with satisfying finishes. The highlight of the weekend was running strongly on home soil and picking up a podium finish.”

This season has been McCullagh’s strongest and apart from the Easter Trail, he ended up third in the final Eureka Garages & Sheds Series point standings, which included a total of two round wins, and they turned out to be the highlights.

“Earlier in the season, we were struggling for form, but we, as a team, continued to work hard and were rewarded with better results as the season progressed,” McCullagh said. “When I look back on the season, we certainly enjoyed a solid second half of the season and
we were rewarded with a couple of wins and strong finishes in the Eureka Series and Easter Trail point scores.

“None of this success this season would have been possible without the support of my hard- working pit crew and all of our team’s wonderful sponsors.”

McCullagh would like to thanks the following 2016-17 sponsors for their valued support:
