• A pair of Queenslanders with decidedly different levels of experience are the latest drivers to nominate for the 2018 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic at Sungold Stadium, Premier Speedway, Warrnambool.

Evergreen hard charger Brent Kratzmann will make the journey south from his Queensland base to take in the Classic before heading slightly west for the Australian Sprintcar Championship at Mt. Gambier’s Borderline Speedway.

Kratzmann will pilot the Q2 entry with the support of B.K Trading Australia, Vortex Express, BHR Fabrication and Dryden Signs.

Having not contested the 2017 version of the Classic, Kratzmann will be looking to put his name up in lights for all the right reasons come January 19-21.

Joining the experienced Kratzmann in the field will be a 19 year-old by the name of Lachlan McHugh.

McHugh impressed many with his strong performances on the countries biggest stages during the 2016-17 season, with many good judges referencing his ability to the equal of a young James McFadden!

Those wraps were backed up by an 11th place finish in the 2017 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic, which came on the back of an 11th place finish on his Friday night qualifying feature event as well.

For 2018, the World Series Sprintcars contracted McHugh will be aiming to repeat and better those results for his supporters Ian Boettcher Race Parts, Castrol Edge, Global Lubricants, Right Price Auto parts and Sedl Contractors.

The 2018 46th edition of the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic will be supported by the following sponsors; Performance Racegear, KRE Race Engines, The Lady Bay Resort and KFC.

Copies of the 2018 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic entry form have been forwarded to the 2017 entrants while a PDF version is available for download from the Premier Speedway website www.premierspeedway.com.au
