• Chris Pavlovich has claimed victory at the Quit Bunbury Speedway on Saturday night, which was the third round of the Super Sedan Summer Series.

Seventeen drivers would be on hand for the first appearance at the South West venue in many season, and it would not provide good memories for Kemble Aylett who withdrew after hot laps with mechanical dramas.

The opening heat would be one of the best races of the night, with a five way battle headed by Damon Trouchet and Kyle Larson, while Dean Shore, Chris Pavlovich and Warren Minshull were in a great battle for third. Larson would be all over Trouchet, but could not make the move. Minshull meanwhile, put a great move on Shore and Pavlovich, passing both in one move to move to third and a lap later passed Larson, with nothing separating the five at the chequered flag, with Trouchet taking the win.

Gary Higgs was too good in heat two, taking the lead on the second lap and was never headed. Higgs had to survive a three lap restart after Bert Vosbergen spun in turn three, before downing Rob Knox and Lee Aylett. Vosbergen charged back through the field to finish fourth, but was relegated to last for passing cars before the cone on the restart.

The second round of heats were raced on a heavily watered race track, which made racing at speed an option for no-one, with throttle control the key. Heat three would see multiple lead changes, with Dean Shore, Damon Trouchet and Warren Minshull all leading at some point during the ten laps. Adrian Geary would spin on lap seven setting up a thee lap run to the finish, with Trouchet holding on to record his second win. It would not end well for Minshull who would slide into the fence on the final lap and subsequently would miss the top six shootout.

Gary Higgs backed up his earlier heat win by winning heat four, which had a good battle with Rob Knox. Knox would rapidly move infield with two laps remaining as a fire took hold under the bonnet. Kevin Bell and Bert Vosbergen would finish second and third.

Higgs would go on to win the top six shootout, but the race will be remembered for the finish for second, which would see Kyle Larson charge home on the outside of Chris Pavlovich, with Larson taking second place by the barest possible margin. In doing so, Larson was squashed into the fence in spectacular fashion, coming to rest at the end of the main straight, and ultimately was unable to start in the A Main. Stewards relegate Pavlovich to last in the results.

The Feature race would see Gary Higgs and Lee Aylett, with Damon Trouchet starting on row two with Pavlovich, courtesy of the finishing positions in the top six shootout, and the fact that Kevin Bell, would was scheduled to start out of position four, could not get his car to start in the lead up to the start of the 20 lap main event.

A multi car incident on the back straight on the opening lap would see a complete restart ordered, with all cars able to restart.

Gary Higgs would get the best of the resumption, with Chris Pavlovich moving to second after the opening lap. Lee Aylett and Damon Trouchet would follow, as Higgs started to open a gap on the opposition. The second and final stoppage would occur on lap five when Peter Wallinger spun in pits bend. Higgs would continue to lead by a four to five car margin over Pavlovich as the race unfolded, with Aylett driving an excellent race in third. The leaders started to hit lapped traffic in the concluding stages, which is where the race would ultimately be won and lost.

Bert Vosbergen spun while attempting a passing move, which caused a large plume of dust off the infield. Higgs and Pavlovich approached the area, with Higgs slowing and running wide out of turn four, while Pavlovich went low to take the lead. Higgs chased Pavlovich for the final two laps, with Pavlovich taking the win by a car length. Lee Aylett drove a good portion of the race by himself, finishing a credible third, while Damon Trouchet and Warren Minshull who finished fourth and fifth respectively, finished half a lap behind the leaders.
