• After a two weekend delay caused by weather the JSR King of the River final will be decided Saturday night at Wangaratta Speedway and with several teams in contention to claim the Crown and the $2000 it will be a thrilling way to finish the mini-series.

Only 50 points separate the top 10 and with double points on offer for the final it really is anyone’s to win. 13 teams have contested all rounds of the mini-series showing the popularity it has developed.

Chris Solomon’s V83 is currently holding a marginal lead on both the Championship and King of the River with 802 points. Mark Caruso’s SA33 has made a return to the Series and is only 8 points behind Solomon on 794. Sitting in third is another South Aussie young gun Dan Evans in the SA77 Maxim with 786. 4th is Brenten Farrer’s V34 on 781 and rounding out the top 5 is current King of the River Champ V7 of Paul Solomon on 773.

Talk about extreme weather challenging our return to Wangaratta after 8 seasons, firstly we cancel with floods forecast in the area and this Saturday we face extreme heat, but as long as we can get the show in that is the main thing. “We are looking forward to running at the newly resurfaced track and with the points so close you can guarantee to see exciting racing. We also have to thank the Committee at Wangaratta Speedway for rescheduling our event .” Searle tells us.

All the regulars are making the trip up the Hume Hwy – Farmer Phil Lock’s V4, V16 James Wren V29 Michael Tancredi, NS38 Shaun Forrell, SA69 Cody Atkins, SA95 Jarman Dalitz, SA16 Jack Gartner & SA32 Ben Gartner, NT26 Tony Moule just to name a few.

Engine Start and Hot Laps start at 5.30 at Wangaratta Speedway, Shanley St., Wangaratta this Saturday 16th December.
