  • Damien Amato led every lap on his way to victory in the fifteen lap rain affected feature event for Street Stocks at Margaret River Speedway on Saturday night.

    Amato was all class throughout the night, winning both of his heats to start on the front row alongside Dylan Magee after the third round of heats was cancelled when a massive downpour of rain swept through the venue during the fourth heat.

    As the feature race went green, Amato got the jump and never looked back as Daniel Stanley, Magee, Jack Favero and Shane Whild battled it out for the minor placings.

    Amato pulled away with each lap, with a number of stoppages doing nothing to dampen his leading efforts, while behind him Stanley, Favero and Whild became even more firmly entrenched in their battle.

    Indeed, it got so intense between the trio that eventually it all came undone, with the trio all spinning to a stop in turn three to bring out the yellows.

    Whild was sent to the rear for his role in the incident, while shortly after the ensuing restarts Favero found himself in the wall in the same spot after an ambitious move on Stanley did not pay off, bringing out the yellows once more.

    This would be the last stoppage of the event, with Amato going on to record a strong victory over Stanley and Magee.
