• THERE will be a change to the top of the points table when round six of the AHG Sprintcar Series Championship is held at the Perth Motorplex on Tuesday, December 26.

Jason Pryde is the leader of the series on 986 points but he will now surrender that lead as he embarks on World Series Sprintcars commitments on the east coast.

Heading into the Boxing Day battle Pryde has 986 points, a comfortable gap back to Jamie Maiolo on 876, Bradley Maiolo 856, Jamie Oldfield 814 and Jason Kendrick 808.

Jamie Maiolo will not only be looking to get some more points on the board but also rebound after suffering more engine dramas at the last round that saw him become a spectator for the feature race.

Jamie’s best result so far this season was a third in the season opener and a fifth in round three.

Younger brother Bradley has enjoyed a fourth, a third and a win.

Oldfield, who has been running mainly a 360ci powered motor, has had a third and a fifth in the feature races while Kendrick has had a pair of seconds and a seventh, along with a pair of DNFs.

The local brigade will not only be chasing points but also challenge themselves against visiting American drivers Ryan Smith and Parker Price Miller who are heading Down Under for the Speedweek challenge.

AHG Sprintcar Series points: Jason Pryde 986, Jamie Maiolo 876, Bradley Maiolo 856, Jamie Oldfield 814, Jason Kendrick 808, Scott Chatwin 766, Shaun Bradford 698, James Inglis 684, Daniel Harding 682 AJ Nash 654, Kye Scroop 626, Andrew Priolo 612, Darren Mewett 598, Mitchell Wormall 534, Kaiden Manders 470, Adrian Haywood 456, Matthew Cross 438, Carl Dowling 418, Corey Hunter 380, Rob Mould 304, Thomas Davies 262, Sean Zemunik 200, Ryan Lancaster 168, Jamie Veal, James McFadden, Ben Butcher, Jamie Landrigan 150 each, Tim Van Ginneken 134, Michael Keen, Troy Lawson 134 each, Vince Rosenthal 130, Troy Beckingham 126, Darren Molleoyuxx 114, Ben Ellement 112, Kerry Madsen 108.
