• The Fun City Entertainment Complex Victorian Super Sedan series went east for the Christmas break, with two nights of great racing at Bairnsdale Speedway and Rosedale Speedway on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

A very fast track at Bairnsdale Raceway greeted the field on Tuesday night. Heat wins went to Lucas Roberts, Peter Nicola, and Brad Wicks and Andrew White. The speed of the track took a toll with a number of cars sustaining damage during the heat racing, with the majority of the cars able to take the start of the Feature Race. The only driver who could not make the start was Brad Wicks who sustained driveline damage.

Peter Nicola was on fire early and managed to take a strong lead. Once in front he was not headed and managed to take the win from Andrew White and Mick Nicola Jnr third.

Very different conditions greeted the teams at Rosedale, with hot conditions during the day creating a slick track where getting good drive off the turns was key. Brad Wicks was able to take two heat wins, Lucas Roberts, Mick Nicola Snr, Andrew White and Mick Nicola Jnr would win the remainder. Dave Mackenzie and Ben Faulkhead had mechanical issues early in their heat races which put both cars out for the night. Peter Nicola had a tough run through the heats and this left him starting well back in tenth position.

Brad wicks started on pole and took the lead early with Mick Nicola Jnr hot on his heels. The field was tightly bunched with the top ten cars all nose to tail. There was a stoppage on lap 4 for Trent Susol who spun.

On the restart Brad Wicks and Mick Nicola Jnr picked up their battle once again. This time they managed to pull a gap on the chasing field. After a couple more restarts for debris on track, Wicks managed to build a gap. This was enough for him to take the win from Mick Nicola Jnr. Lucas Roberts and Peter Nicola fought out a tough battle for the last place on the podium with Roberts getting the upper hand.

The next race on the Victorian Super Sedan Calendar is the K-Rock cup at Avalon raceway on Saturday, 6 January 2018. With 24 cars currently nominated from 5 different states it is set to be one of the biggest nights of Super Sedan racing this season.
