• Robbie Farr continued his dominance of the USC SA at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway as he claimed his second main event win of the series as he defeated Luke Dillon and Brock Hallett in the International Sprintcar event on Saturday night. After winning the pole shuffle in controversial fashion Farr started from the pole and led all 30 laps to extend his run to four consecutive podium results at the Murray Bridge venue this season.

“Sometimes as a team things just click at a certain track, and this year we have been good every time we have been here. The car felt really good all night and when you have a good car you have to take advantage of it” added Farr on the podium.

“We are over half way in the points championship now and things are looking pretty good, but you never know what can happen but to be leading with only three rounds to go puts us in a good position” he added.

Luke Dillon was pleased with his runner-up position having struggled by his own high expectations of late but a complete rebuild of his race car following Speedweek appeared to help Luke and his team find the speed required to run up front.

For Hallett, his third placing was a career best USC result and on the podium the likeable racer was extremely pleased his run adding that passing Jason Johnson for third was among his career highlights.

Johnson held on to finish fourth after starting from the front row with Californian teenager Michael “Buddy” Kofoid recording his best result of his Australian tour with a top five result. Daniel Pestka, Lisa Walker, Keke Falland, Aidan Hall and Ryan Jones completed the top 10.

Although a tenth placed result wasn’t what Jones was hoping for it ended up being a creditable result after rolling his #63 Triple X in the opening heat sending him to the B-Main.

Along with Jones, Ricky Maiolo was the only other driver to roll over on the night after he crashed out of the A-Main on lap four.

Earlier the six heat winners were Farr (2), Falland, Dillon, Hallett and Steven Caruso while Jesse Attard won the B-Main.

Unfortunately, the third American in the driver line-up, Cory Eliason, didn’t manage to get past Time Trials as an issue with the power plant saw the Adam Currie owned #00 sidelined for the night. But despite not competing Eliason didn’t get the night off as he joined the commentary team providing expert comments for the fans on the hill and the viewers on Clay-Per-View.

In the support events Steve Agars emerged victorious in the Zeke Agars Tribute V6 Sprint Feature over Chris James and John McKenzie while Aaron Tranter won the Junior Sedan finale.

The Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway will now take a short break and return on February 2 & 3 with the Autopro Australian Late Model Championship. Night 2 of the Championship will also feature Round 5 of the Ultimate Sprintcar Championship SA and the 2018 South Australian Speedcar Championship.
