• Anthony Beare has sent an ominous warning to his opposition, as he won the MJS Street Stock A Main at Adelaide Motorsports Park on Saturday night, winning in emphatic fashion.

The three times National Champion held a comfortable lead throughout the event, defeating Lenny Bates, Andy Maxwell Jnr and Jayden Edwards in the thirty lap main event, the last Street Stock event at the venue prior to the Speedway Sedans Australia, National Street Stock Title in February.

Positions amongst the lead five cars remained stagnant throughout the race, with Lenny Bates, Maxwell Jnr, National Champion Rhys Heinrich and Jayden Edwards having a great duel for the minor placing. Grant Harris lead the remainder of the field in sixth place followed by Victorian, Corey Sandow and Craig Buchanan.

With Beare leading by more than three seconds, all eyes were on second place where the margin was just 0.3 as Bates, Maxwell Jnr, Heinrich and Edwards continued the battle for the minor placing.

Five laps from home, Sandow got the better of Harris to move to sixth, as Maxwell Jnr also put a gap on Heinrich and Edwards, who were left to fight for fourth place in the concluding stages.

Bates and Maxwell Jnr were able reduce the margin in the final laps, but it would amount to naught as Beare would cruise to victory, his fourth of the season. Jayden Edwards would take fourth place from Heinrich on the final lap, while Corey Sandow would complete the top six.

Cody Heinrich who finished in the B Main and set the quickest lap, was also impressive, finishing tenth in the A Main.

Earlier, the eight qualifying races were conducted over twelve laps, the same distance as the National Title, with wins in the first round to Beare, Mark Jennings, Heinrich and Robbie Faux, while the second round winners would be Lenny Bates, Maxwell Jnr, Jennings and Matt Nelson. Sadly for Nelson and Jennings, neither made it past the half way mark of the race.
