• Kaiden Manders and the J&S Drilling Sprintcar Team have triumphed in the Australian 360 Sprintcar Championship held at the Perth Motorplex over the weekend.
The team started the title tilt in brilliant fashion with Manders charging from position 6 to score a great win in his first heat race.
Next time out he came from seventh on the grid to finish third.
This meant he lined up in third for the Preliminary Feature and drove a heady race to cross the line second.
Overnight the team put their old engine back in the car, feeling it was a better proposition.
Manders converted a pole position start to an easy win in his first heat on Sunday.
Another fine performance in his last heat saw him race from tenth up to third.
The Championship decider saw 24 cars line up for a 40-lap marathon - with Manders starting in second spot.
Jason Kendrick took the lead with Manders content to follow him around.
Around lap 15 Manders made his move and the pair swapped places several times before the J&S Drilling pilot took control.
Later on Kendrick crashed out of contention, but Manders was challenged by Victorian star David Murcott.
Eight from home contact was made along the back straight and Murcott slammed into the fence.
The impact broke the Jacobs Ladder but Manders was able to nurse the car home to victory.
"It still hasn't sunk in yet," Manders said after the event. "The whole team worked really hard all weekend long.
"The lapped traffic was hard to deal with during the race.
"The car was amazing all weekend long."
The J&S Drilling Team will put their 410 cu.in. motor back in the car for the season finale on April 7 at the Perth Motorplex.
