• With the 2017/2018 Ausdeck Patios Archerfield Speedway season having just wrapped up, attention now turns to what is shaping as a massive 2018/2019 campaign at the Brisbane venue. The 2018/2019 season calendar has been released and the highlight of the upcoming season will undoubtedly be the staging of the 57th Australian Sprintcar Championship over two spectacular nights on January 26 and 27. Is there a better way to celebrate the Australia Day weekend than watching Australias finest Sprintcar drivers do battle for the prestige that comes with an Australian Championship victory? It promises to be something very special and will be preceded by a special midweek Prelude to the Championship event on Wednesday, January 23 that will also feature the Queensland AMCA Nationals Championship.

In the lead-up to championship week, Archerfield will once again host an exclusive Australian campaign from World of Outlaws superstar Donny Schatz that will include another assault on the rich Titan Garages Australian Open on January 4 and 5, which doubles as a round of World Series Sprintcars. Schatz will start his Archerfield residency on December 26, with subsequent appearances on December 29, and January 1 prior to the Australian Open before wrapping up his tour with a round of World Series Sprintcars on January 9 presented by Performance Wholesale.

In addition to the Australian Championship, two World Series rounds and a round of the Easter Triple Challenge on April 20, Sprintcar competitors will contest 16 rounds of the East Coast Logistics Track Championship and it will be interesting to see who can follow in the footsteps of young guns such as Mitchell Gee, Lachlan McHugh and Callum Walker and emerge as series contenders against those who have already tasted track championship success such as Luke Oldfield, Bryan Mann and current champ Andrew Scheuerle. With several new drivers expected to swell the local Queensland ranks even further, Sprintcar fans will experience a season like no other as their local heroes face off against the best drivers from Australia and overseas in a series of events that will prove the ultimate test of preparation, determination and skill.

In addition to the abundant Sprintcar action on offer, there are plenty of other highlights on the calendar, including no less than 10 outings for the mighty Midgets and five scheduled appearances each for Super Sedans and Dirt Modifieds. With both categories having grrown exponentially as a result of basing their racing operations at Archerfield in recent seasons, Formula 500s and Compact Speedcars again feature prominently with 12 shows apiece, with Lightning Sprints, AMCA Nationals, Modlites and Wingless Sprints also getting plenty of runs.

Following two practice nights on August 25 and September 8, the season kicks off on September 22 and there are 28 nights of racing scheduled for the season, with the full 2018/2019 Ausdeck Patios Archerfield Speedway calendar as follows:
