As has so often been the case at Ellenbrook Speedway in Street Stocks, the name Oldfield is once again on top, this time with Warren Oldfield claiming the win in todays twenty lap feature event.

The first attempt at a start in the feature did not end well, with cars going every which way, but the second attempt was much better, with Warren Oldfield getting the better of Anthony Heelan on the start.

Yesterdays feature winner Marty Kelly settled into third while Freddy Kinsella, also a winner at Ellenbrook Speedway earlier this season, slotted into fourth place.

Kelly looked high on Heelan, the two side by side, but Heelan was able to power away as ahead of them Oldfield was pulling away.

Kinsella then looked for a way past Kelly while directly behind them State Champion Hayden Norman and Mooras Gavin Minty were also looking for a way though. All of a sudden Kinsella and Norman made it past Kelly, but just a lap later Norman retired while sitting fourth while Kelly spun in turn two in a separate incident, bringing out the yellows with thirteen laps remaining.

Oldfield led away but behind him was an intense battle as Heelan, Kinsella, Minty, Carl Pickersgill and Brendon Vanzetti fought it out.

For the next few laps the order remained unchanged, with the yellows coming on at the halfway distance after Daniel Sutton and Jeff Rogers came together in turn one. Both cars were unable to restart, leaving eight cars for the remaining half of the race.

Again Oldfield pulled away, with Heelan solid in second while Kinsella, Minty and Pickersgill battled it out for position over the next few laps. Pickersgill first picked off Minty, then Kinsella to shift into third with four laps remaining to then put the pressure on Heelan for second.

Up front though it was all Oldfield as he claimed the win from Heelan, while Pickersgill held off a charging Kinsell on the line for third.

The next show at Ellenbrook Speedway will be held on the 24th of June.
