• World Series Sprintcars is set to invade Sungold Stadium, Premier Speedway, Warrnambool on two occasions during the ultra-tough Speedweek part of the series, but that hasn’t stopped three of the National Touring Series contracted stars from locking in for the South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic later in January.

With QSS World Series Sprintcars in action on December 29 and January 1 in Warrnambool and the now traditional heart-starter for the Month-of-Money – Max’s Race – scheduled for December 15, Sprintcar fans are going to be spoilt for choice.

Contracted World Series Sprintcars drivers Jye O’Keeffe, Jason Pryde and Mitch Wormall are also amongst the most recent batch of entries for the 47th running of the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic.

Warrnambool’s O’Keeffe has been in exceptional early season form, except for a racing incident at Mt. Gambier’s Borderline Speedway. His car speed has been plentiful with the pilot of the KRE powered Maxim, probably unfortunate to not having broken through for a feature race win.

As always a ton of local support is backing the GJ Gardner Homes V42 entry, with the likes of Mortlake Roadhouse, Morton Power Services, Westvic Sheds, G & H Distributors, Willie’s Manufacturing Industries, Southern Hydraulics & Rubber, API Plumbing, Merri Aluminum and Windows, O’Shannassy Motorsport, Thomo’s Race Graphix, Autosmart, G & C Forestry, Okely Contracting, Gulf Western Oil, Atlas Concreting and Warrnambool Powder Coating all on board.

O’Keeffe finished the 2018 Classic with an 8th place finish in B-Main 1.

A pair of Western Australian’s in Jason Pryde and Mitch Wormall will also make the long trek East for World Series Sprintcars before a date with the best of the best at the Classic.

Pryde who completed his 2018 Classic with a seventh-place result in the first of the two Sunday night C-Main’s will again campaign a Kistler powered Cool Chassis for his sponsors Austwide Communications, AMPT Services, Miniquip, Industor, IBRP, Harding’s Fine Confectionery and Suncity Plumbing.
Wormall, who in 2017-18 formed an imposing two car team with 2018 Speed Sports News Challenge (Knoxville Raceway) Domenic Scelzi, will head out on the road as the sole Wormall Motorsport driver.

As with any team committing to making the trek across the Nullabor a strong and loyal band of supporters are on board headed up by Wormall Civil and supported by Brooks Hire, Mayday Services, Valvoline, Fuel Distributors WA, MJB Industries, F45 Training Mandurah, Australian Civil Haulage, West Coast Rewind and Clark Equipment.

Having gained more seat time during the Australian winter in the US, Wormall will be looking to break his way into the 24 car A-Main field, having finished 18th in B-Main 2 last January.

A duo of South Aussie and Windsor Downs NSW, Mick Saller will also be a part of the Classic action.

Saller, in the MSP Shopfittings, Mega Cash, KRGS Roller Doors and Grills and Lucky Bling N56 car, will look to improve on a 12th place finish in C-Main 2 from the 46th edition of the Classic.

Having just missed the transfer from the B-Main to the A-Main in 2018, Brock Hallett is one driver that is certainly great to watch with his preference for the high line going hand in hand with his throttle stomping, all guns blazing racing style.

The beautifully presented S13 Triple X comes with a full book of sponsors including Bunyip Print, Allan Miller Transport Training, Castrol, Finish Line Media Australia, Taylor Made Wings, Butch Bennett Crash Repairs, Steve Wickes Powder Coaters and Maxwill Race Engines.

Brock’s fellow South Aussie, Lisa Walker is another crowd favorite who continues to show great car speed and a capacity to learn every time she straps into the S4 Maxwill Race Engines powered Triple X.

Lisa’s sponsors include Devil Race Karts, Action Line Marking, Backstreet Traders, Adelaide IVECO, North East Isuzu, Trev’s Removals and Ennis-Flint and with a 17th place finish in B-Main 1 in 2018, she will be another looking for a better qualifying effort to kick start a potentially massive Classic weekend.

The 2019 47th edition of the South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic will be supported by the following sponsors; Performance Racegear, KRE Race Engines, GJ Gardner Homes, The Lady Bay Resort and KFC.

Copies of the 2019 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic entry form have been forwarded to the 2018 entrants while a PDF version is available for download from the Premier Speedway website www.premierspeedway.com.au
