• Two-times Knoxville Raceway champion and top eight World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprintcars driver Ian Madsen will return home at the end of the year for this season’s lucrative Ultimate Sydney Speedweek Series.

The 35-year old four-times WoO main event winner who has already amassed an amazing 260 starts in the world’s biggest Sprintcar travelling highwire act will saddle up in the DTM Motorsport Patti's Hire Cool for the entire December 26-January 18 commitment at the track where he cut his teeth – Valvoline Raceway Parramatta.

Ian Madsen is very much a ‘Parramatta specialist’ having won 15 main events there.

He’s won some of the biggest races of his Australian career there including his stunning come from behind win in the 2013 $50,000 Scott Darley Challenge.

His ability to slam the cushion or ledge on a juiced-up surface or keep it tidy on the slick makes him a huge wild card for the Ultimate Sydney Speedweek Series and the Ultimate Speedway Nationals on January 17/18.

That craft has been honed dramatically in life on the brutal road with the Outlaws over the last two years with the ultra-professional KCP Racing Team and he’ll return to Sydney this Christmas a vastly improved proposition on an already rapid talent.

Madsen races night in night out with the American superstars also headed to the Harbour City including Brad Sweet (current World of Outlaws point leader), All Stars Circuit of Champions winner Aaron Reutzel and WoO rookie of the year contender Carson Macedo.

Sydney youngster Jake Baines currently sits in the cockpit of the DTM #4 Cool in Sydney but he’ll move back to the role of crew chief on the car with Madsen – a situation that will benefit the youngster with an already significant USA and Australian work experience resume.

Baines has already crewed extensively with Tarlton Motorsport and Dennis Roth Motorsports now working with Ian Madsen will further bolster his skill set.

It will also provide plenty of feedback for Jake’s own driving ambitions.

A new DTM car is currently being bolted together with the current #4 being used as the spare come December 26.

The confirmation of Ian Madsen, in a very slick car owned by Darren and Tracey Dahlitz, with his vast experience in the USA and Australia is a major boost for fans and a major stick of dynamite for the field.
