• With just over a week until Premier Speedway commences its 2019-20 season with the opening night of the Parr Motorsports Track Premiership doubling as Round 3 of the Eureka Sprintcar Series, along with Junior Sedans and V8 Dirt Modifieds, the entries for January’s South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic continue to roll in.

Bendigo based Rising Star Rusty Hickman, fresh off a maiden American racing campaign, has added his name to the early entrants for the Classic along with popular Queensland hard charger Kevin Titman.

The John Titman Racing, BHR Fabrication and Maxwill Racing Engines supported Triple X of Kevin Titman returns to the Classic on a journey South that will also take in the 2020 Australian Sprintcar Championship as scheduled for Latrobe Speedway in Tasmania the week after the Classic.

Having finished just outside the transferees to the 2019 Classic final, Titman will be keen to improve on his 8th placed run in B-Main 2.

For Hickman, the past 12 months have been somewhat of a whirlwind rise-up the Sprintcar pecking order. A debut as a Contracted driver on World Series Sprintcars for the 2018-19 season, then being able to forge a partnership between Hickman Racing and Victorian car-owner Dave Challons for a maiden voyage to Knoxville Raceway, saw Hickman contest a both the 360 and 410 Knoxville Nationals.

While in the US, Hickman’s results were punctuated with multiple transfers from last chance qualifiers, with the 360 Nationals yielding a fourth place run in the D-main before showing massive improvement to run 12th in the C-Main.

The Capitani Classic, which is arguably the toughest stand alone, single night Sprintcar event on the Planet, fell between the 360 and 410 Nationals, with Rusty again transferring from the C-Main to the B-Main where he would place 19th.

The grandest stage of them all for Sprintcar Drivers, the Knoxville Nationals was next, with a 17th place finish in the C-Main again after having transferred out of the D-Main drew to a close, what will no doubt be the first or many forays into the US Sprintcar scene for Hickman.

Having missed the show at the Classic in 2019, Hickman will be keen to make amends come January and once again he will enjoy strong support from Hickman’s Tree Maintenance, Peerless Products, EASYAS car Wash, Camden Signage & Building Solutions, Revolution Racegear, Jackal Fencing, J&J Auto Racing, Maxwill Racing Engines, Victory Lane Racegear and Bandit Chippers.

All in all, both Hickman and Titman are two welcome additions to the Classic line-up for 2020.

All race fans are reminded that on-line ticket sales for not only the 2020 South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic but every meeting of the 2019-20 season at Sungold Stadium commenced on October 21.

The 2020 48th edition of the South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic will be supported by the following sponsors; Performance Racegear, KRE Race Engines, GJ Gardner Homes, The Lady Bay Resort and KFC.

Copies of the 2020 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic entry form have been forwarded to the 2019 entrants while a PDF version is available for download from the Premier Speedway website www.premierspeedway.com.au
