• A promising start ended in an early night for Kemble Aylett, after the opening round of the Super Sedan Summer Series, held at the Makit Hardware Narrogin Speedway on Saturday night.

After a good start, Aylett would finish second, in a thrilling opening heat, which saw just four car lengths separate the lead four cars through the duration of the ten lap qualifying heat. Aylett had good car speed, but just could not find a way around eventual winner Adyme Harvey.

Aylett would next race in heat three, starting from position four, making his way to third soon after the start. Aylett would find himself battling for second place with Kyle Larson and Harvey, before a restart on lap seven, which allowed the field to assemble behind Adrian Geary who had opened a large lead. The car started to vibrate on the restart, with what turned out to be a broken lift arm. Despite this Aylett was able to hold on for third place, but ultimately put an early end to his night.

Despite the disappointment, the car had plenty of speed, giving plenty of optimism to the team heading into the second round of the series at Manjimup at the end of the month, which will see a larger field of drivers enter.

Aylett would like to thank his sponsors, Melcarlee Transport 9 and Sledge Hammer Engines for their support. If you would like to get on board and support Aylett, there is still plenty of room on the car to promote you business around Australia. Kemble can be contacted on 0450 045 289.
