• The winner of the 2020 Sidecar Super Series will be decided this Saturday night (22 February) when the third, and final, round is held at Gillman Speedway.

Local duo Shane Rudloff and Scott Morris go into the meeting as favourites to win the series. Despite not winning the final in either of the first two rounds, consistent results throughout the qualifying heats has them leading by six points ahead of Kym Menadue/Eric Melton and Neale Hancock/Brendan Johnson, with Rick Stephens/Nick O’Brien a further three points behind.

Rudloff and Morris will not be able to rest on their laurels on Saturday night, however. With a maximum of 16 points available, if Menadue/Melton or Hancock/Johnson where to go through the night unbeaten, Rudloff/Morris would need 11 points to win, which would mean they would have to reach the final, so can’t afford to drop too many points in the heats.

The chances of any of the series leaders scoring maximum points will be difficult however with the surprise entry of current Oceania and World Cup Champions Warren Monson and Andrew Summehayes. Monson/Summerhayes missed the first two rounds because of racing commitments in New Zealand, so can’t win the series, but they will be the favourites to win this round.

Although the series winner is unlikely to come from outside the top four of Rudloff, Menadue, Hancock and Stephens, the racing should be very close as Dean Hobbs/Glen Zaworski, Aaron Silvy/Jaron Silvy, Nathan Fleet/Ayrton Canning, Stephen Fowler/Corey Palmer and Adon Pearce/Eli Bock have all figured in some exciting racing in the first two rounds.

While the Sidecar Series is the feature event, there will also be support races for Division one, Division two, and Flat track solos.
