• The division leaders of the South West Sedan Championship where able to assert their dominance of the points race coming into the final round at the Trade Hire Augusta-Margret River Speedway on March 28 with all three drivers taking the feature race victories at the Make Smoking History Collie Speedway tonight.

Matthew Thomson, Kyle Sayer and Michael Hamon continued to impress all night long with all drivers going almost undefeated throughout the night.

For Thomson, he was given a lifeline with his main counterpart Jonty Barnesby taking a nasty roll in heat two seeing Thomson able to cruise home with the 12-Lap feature race victory and holding onto his lead in the series with Sayer the only one unable to go undefeated when he come home in second his opening heat race.

Sayer can not be touched in the points race for the Production Sedans and he will go into the final round looking to try dethrone Thomson.

The Production Sedan Series leader was cruising to victory in the final until lap traffic come into play where a fast finishing Jason Batchelor just fell short of taking a surprising victory given the fact he missed his third heat after he collected the concrete wall in heat two.

Michael Hamon had it a little easier after fellow front row starter Ethan Genev’s feature would be ruined with a flat right rear tyre. Once Genev was out Hamon would not be touched and lapped up to fifth place, defeating Clint Hadley, Peter Herbert and Damon Thomson by 16 seconds with the latter three drivers in an entertaining battle for the whole 30 laps.

What would even be sweeter for Hamon was he was to go into unchartered territory as for the first time in 48 years of the venue the Street Stock Feature Race went the entire 30-Lap distance without a stoppage with fifteen drivers taking the green flag.

The series now heads to the Trade Hire Augusta-Margret River Speedway on March 28where Kyle Sayer and Matt Thomson are locked in battle on who will win the Ivix Industries Rolle Cage for the Overall Championship.
