• HEADING into the upcoming season, Luke Stirton and his Stirton Family Racing team are preparing to base the majority of their 2024-25 season schedule at their home track, Sydney International Speedway.

After a number of seasons in the wilderness, the Sydney Sprintcar scene is set to run its first full season in five years, and Stirton, aboard his NSW # 10 NATRAD / Motoradco Industrial Radiators supported Maxim, is really looking forward to it.

“It’s going to be good to race a full season locally, as it’s been a while, and it’s a major boost for the Sydney Sprintcar scene,” expressed the 25-year-old racer. “Over the past few seasons, we have had to travel long distances to go about our racing, and for this season, our team is going to support the Sydney International Speedway by basing ourselves there.”

Despite only running a dozen race meetings at Sydney International Speedway since the track opened three years ago, Stirton has proven to be very competitive there. “I’ve really enjoyed running at the Sydney track since it has opened and it has gone to another level since Marty (Perovich) and his team have been preparing the track last season,” he enthused.

“The goals for season ahead are to be continue to develop our speed there and work our way towards to becoming a consistent front-running contender and seeing where it takes us.” Apart from being based at Sydney International Speedway, Stirton and his team will be competing at selected NSW country race meetings, as well as the possibility of contesting the Grand Annual Classic at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway (Vic) and the Australian Championship at Murray Bridge Speedway (SA) at the end of January.

The first meeting on the 2024-25 season for Stirton and his team is set to be at Sydney International Speedway on the Saturday night of October 26. Stay tuned for the team’s 2024-25 season livery reveal in the coming weeks.
