• With the Alexandra Speedway Castrol Fist Full of Dollars – Holden vs. Ford Challenge approaching all the talk has been on the money you can take for winning the event, a cool $3000- is not a bad little pay day yet they race winner could go away with more with a number of other cash bonuses on offer.

First of all before the field turns a lap in the final the top qualifying Ford and the top qualifying Holden pick up $500- each on behalf of our brand supporters Yarra Ranges Ford & Heritage Holden and if one of these drivers go on to win they would have taken home $3500-

The driver that moves forward the most positions during the final picks up $300 for their efforts imagine adding that to one of the big three place payments for first, second or third.
The Top travelling qualifier picks up $200 and you could imagine a South Australian on the front row picking up the money for being the top qualifier for his brand pocketing $500 & then winning and picking up $3000 and put all this together and it adds up to $3700

There is a Joker prize that all drivers are entered into all they have to do is make sure they stay to be a part of the trophy presentation and give their transponder back and they are in with a shot.

The best presented Ford & Holden is supported by ‘Inaction Photos’ with prizes from them to the winners.

Plus for the crew guys who will play a part in the half time interval getting their drivers machine prepared for the second half of the race, they will be trying to win the best crew award and pick up a slab of Jim Beam.

Out of all the drivers that have entered there is always a few that the crowd expects to be at the front of the field and others that will be there bouts and those others that know they will be down the back having some fun but making up the numbers.

Well amongst the field with strong opportunities to turn it on and hustle the unusual leading suspects will be:

    Holden Drivers
Darren Giacometti from Redline Speedway Club – ‘Giaco’ can peddle and on his night in a tough home track field at Redline Raceway it wouldn’t be a surprise that he could cross the line first. Watch for ‘Giaco’ to have the # 12 up there and amongst it at Alexandra.

Brooke Ferguson from Redline Speedway Club – We have watched little Brookie grow up over the last few seasons and like ‘Giaco’ she has taken out feature race wins at her home track too. The boys don’t like getting beaten by a chick however they don’t have much say in it when she is on her game.

Andrew Ratten from Alexandra Speedway Club – Andrew won the lead up race to this event at Alexandra back in November. He had a great battle with Daniel Barton a former national champion and was proving very difficult to make a move on. On his home venue his knowledge is sure to come into play.

    Ford Drivers:
Shaun Henry from Ballarat Speedway Club – Shaun is another racer who can win in strong fields. A former Track Championship winner at Redline, Shaun has a win this season at Avalon Speedway Club. Shaun can string things together and when he does watch out.

Shane Roycroft from Simpson Speedway Club – The Big Hulk has an entertaining driving style, that’s for sure. He won’t leave anything in the tank and will make things difficult for the top guns. Expect Hulk to take advantage of the turn one and two banking to put the moves on as he hustles his way around Alexandra Speedway.

Alexandra Speedway Club is grateful for the events supporters:
    Castrol Australia
    Heritage Holden
    Yarra Ranges Ford
    Campton Graphix
