• With the Castrol Fist Full of Dollars Holden vs. Ford Challenge almost upon us the Street Stock fraternity in Victoria are heading towards Alexandra Speedway for the event this Saturday night.

The list of who has entered is stacked with drivers with winning history and it is impossible to put money down on a potential winner with 100% certainty.

One thing for sure is that Australian Champion Robbie Faux & Anthony Beare who just keeps on winning state title after title have the strongest appeal with social media fans in pre race discussion as to who might win.

DMT Sports Media has written a list of 30 plus drivers from the nominations that would make a final at any regular Redline Raceway or Murray Bridge Speedway event and set himself the task of saying if a driver was going to win whom was it likely to be with a narrow list of five.

    Here is his five:
    Robbie Faux
    Stevie Gartner
    Anthony Beare
    Mick Clark
    Brad McClure

The list is put together with no real surety with so many drivers a real chance.

The full nomination list has been disclosed and here are your drivers in manufacturer lists.

    FORD
    AUS 1 Robbie Faux
    NT 5 Justin Brumfield
    RDL 17 Rob Tinworth
    MDA 18 Jake Drewett
    SA 21 Mark Jennings
    B 23 Shaun Henry
    RDL 25 Jamie Crutchley
    RDL 27 Jason Degoldi
    SA 32 Steven Gartner
    MDA 36 Scott Bull
    RDL 37 Daryl Atkinson
    SH 45 Paul Threlfall
    RDL 63 Darren Paisley
    AX 68 Rick Sankey
    AV 74 Ric Swasbrick
    AV 75 Troy Polley
    RDL 77 Peter Crutchley
    AX 81 Dylan Campton
    S 82 Shane Roycroft

The Faux train will of course be out to win in his own right however is looking for great support through the Ford line up to take that manufacturers win. With mates Jake Drewett & Scotty Bull in the Yarra Ranges Ford ‘Blue’ colours they will combine with the rest of the team to take the challenge up to the Heritage Holden Lilydale ‘Reds’.

Young Dylan Campton is the only local registered racer in the Ford team whilst a host of Alexandra drivers line up in a Holden with Morris Ahearn, Megan Cheeseman, Mick Chrystie, Darren Forrest, Matt Nelson, Andrew Ratten & Daniel Barton in the Holden force.

The Holden driver list runs very deep with strong performers and the reality is with the top ten Holdens qualifying for the final automatically, the rest of them will have to battle it out in the B Main to get a chance to run the big race. Some good drivers here will be in that B Main.

Over the years Dann, Beare, McClure, Flatman, Clark & Duell have all been racing against each other and it will be interesting to see what tactics if any evolve on the track during qualifying and what assistance to each other will be given in the pit enclosure in the best interests of the team whilst as a individual everybody try’s to qualify as high as possible to have the best chance of the $3000 win.

    GO THE HOLDENS!
