Alexandra & District Speedway Club this weekend has a massive show for race fans with the Street Stock division in a good old Ford vs Holden battle where the battle for manufacturers bragging rights is just one race within a race where the car that finishes first across the line will pick up $3000- to win in the Castrol Fist Full of Dollars Holden v Ford Challenge.

A whose who of Street Stock racers from South Australia and Victoria include current Australian champion Robbie Faux from Mildura, Mark Jennings, Steven Gartner both from South Australia and Scott Bull from Swan Hill all in Fords whilst in the red corner (Holden) drivers include Brad McClure multiple times national champion, Anthony Beare from South Australia whose held every title relevant, Mick Dann, Jason Duell, Lloyd Wallace & Darren Flatman also from South Australia, Mick Clark & Daniel Barton.

The field is stacked with potential winners and the massive 640 metre long race track and with anybodies guess as to who the winner is going to be, one thing for sure is race fans should bring their Ford & Holden flags out and have some fun.

With support from Heritage Holden Lilydale and Yarra Ranges Ford the racing will be entertaining as the drivers try to do the right thing for their manufacturer and themselves.
SDAV Hot Rods have their Victorian title later in the season at Alexandra Speedway and everybody will be keen to get a feeler for the new track set up before the championship in what will be their first race meeting of the season. Phil Jenkins, Dean West, the returning Andrew Howard, Allan Luckett, Russell Hovey, Steve Robertson & Shannon Meakins all have been proven race winners and throw in Kali Hovey, Rod Smith, Dylan Linehan & Glenn Lawless and V8 engine fans will be thrilled as they thunder around the track.

Junior Sedan action includes all the regular Alexandra youngsters with Cameron Pearson, Jackson Lunt, Caleb Lincoln and Dean Burton set to continue their battles at the front of the field.

Standard Saloons are also on the program and from the North East of Victoria Warrick Howie, Jeff Bowers & Stuart Densem will be difficult to beat however Leigh Gooding the current State # 2 ranked racer, Colin Tate & Nick Chrystie will be the most likely to be right in there amongst the action.

Racing starts at 5pm & gate prices for spectators are Adults $20, Aged and Invalid Pensioners $15, kids 12 to 16 $10, under 12 are free whilst two adults and two kids in the 12 to 16 aged bracket can get in for $50 with under 12 free.
