• After three rounds of racing Grovedale racer Andy Hibbert is in sizzling form in the travelling Parr Motorsport Series for the Victorian Wingless Sprints club as he leads Geelong’s Peter Green & the lads from Ballarat Sam & James Wren after the Southern 500 Speedway round on December the 7th.

Coming into this season, Hibbert had set himself a task of expecting a decent overall result and by decent he means a top three finish overall. So far things are going well with the # 17 Torquay Newsagency supported race car sitting a top of the series standings with round four at Rosedale & five at Bairnsdale the next destination just after Christmas.

Each season the Parr Motorsports Series gets harder and harder as the equipment improves and drivers improve, this is what Hibbert had to say about the competition. "Running with the two Wren boys was always going to be my aim, however you can always put Pete Green in there who always seems to be at the front by the end of the night. There are others in the field that shouldn’t be discounted such as Luke Cole and a few others. It will be good as we get towards the end of the series when Jye Saunders and a few boys from down Warrnambool way come out, because I know how strong they are as well and they will be right in the mix."

Hibbert spent some time in Sydney with a little racing and a lot of learning by working with Jason Meyers as he raced. DMT Sports Media asked what he was able to take out of that experience. “Sydney was an awesome learning curve, I didn’t do a whole heap of races at Parramatta, when I did I was pretty much on the money every time and whilst I was up there living and working with Meyers taught me so much about everything from race car preparation, my attitude towards it all and even just getting the most out of the car. Then the following year having Brooke Tatnell come and be being able to send time with him as well, they both love Racing and its given me a way more serious outlook on the sport. The experience with Steve Caunt & Steve Caunt Racing was something I wont forget, without his support and the opportunity I wouldn’t have such a learning experience."

After winning the Borderline round of the series Hibbert finished second behind Daniel Storer at Portland and whilst a back to back win result would have been nice, Storer was too strong on the night. "Daniel was just to good for everyone that night. I wasn’t in any position to catch him, so I just had to focus on getting past Coley and Pete. Even if there was a heap of yellows I don’t think we would have been able to drive past him." shared Hibbert.

There is a lot of fun to have in the Parr Motorsport series and DMT Sports Media asked Hibbert what he likes the most about being involved in the Parr Motorsport series. "Just going to mainly almost every decent track in Victoria, now the series has widened out and gone to the east that’s brought new tracks that I haven’t been to or seen into considerations & gives new stuff to learn and focus on. Adrian and Kim have been there for years supporting this and its always good when they come back and announce they are sponsoring the series again. They are good people and always good for advice when we need it."

Andy Hibbert Motorsport would like to thank the following for their support:
