• GOLD COAST (Dec 23, 2013)-Bunbury (WA)-based Speedcar Pilot Dayne Kingshott will make a lightening raid on the Polar Ice Midget Series when he competes in Round 4 of the tournament at Brisbane's Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway on December 28.

Kingshott (pictured, right) will be substituting for regular Neilson motorsport driver Michael Kendall, who is competing in the opening four rounds of the POWRi Midget World Championships at Auckland's Westerns Springs Speedway. Kendall, a five-time New Zealand Midget Champion, currently sits 3rd in Polar Ice standings.

" It was out of the blue" said Kingshott of his call-up to race in Queensland. "I've only raced at Archerfield once before and really enjoyed it, its a great track and there are alot of really competitive cars there so I am looking forward to getting back there again".

Kingshot will be joined by his regular Crew Chief Matt Cochrane for his Sunshine State sojourn, with the Archerfield event to be his first aboard an Aggressor chassis. However the 24-year old West Australian isn't phased by the change from his more familiar Bunbury Subaru-backed Spike.

" I've raced a Beast, a Stealth and a Spike, but the Aggressor that Dwayne runs is quite a bit different to what I am used to. But the (Esslinger) engine package is all the same so hopefully by the end of time-trials I should be pretty comfortable in the car"

Team owner Dwayne Neilson is excited to see Kingshot behind the wheel if his Esslinger-powered Aggressor midget.

" It will be different not seeing Michael (Kendall) in the car, that's for sure, but Dayne's an exciting young talent and I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can do in Brisbane. He's got a Pro Series round win under his belt this season and I think he is definitely capable of mixing it up with the guys up here"

While the main motivation behind drafting Kingshot for the absent Kendall is to accumulate valuable Polar Ice Series points, Neilson is adamant that his potent racecar will still be a feature at the front of the pack.
" He will be here to win, that's for sure" said Neilson. " I don't think he would jump on the red-eye flight out of Perth and come all this way just to make up the numbers!"

Kingshot is currently second in points in the inaugural Speedcar Pro Series, having taken out Round 4 of the Series at Adelaide's Speedway City in November.
