• The Victorian Wingless Sprints Parr Motorsports series returns this Friday & Saturday night December 27th & 28th with a crucial double header for drivers on the campaign to win the overall series with consistency and staying out of trouble more important than any event so far.

In a two night show if a driver strikes trouble with their car in night one and cant go on to compete in night two the lost points will put a massive crunch in their chances of a top five finish at the end of the series.

Drivers will be keen to avoid any risky moves on night one at the super quick Bairnsdale Speedway and get a finish in both their heats and the final and then go on to take risks on night two at Rosedale Speedway knowing they will have time to fix their cars before the next round if something should go horribly wrong.

After three rounds the standings are very close at the top of the table between the lead three drivers with Grovedale racer Andy Hibbert leading Peter Green who is just around the corner in Geelong by just 42 points with Ballarat racer Sam Wren a further 22 points further back.

Last year’s champion James Wren in fourth has some catching up to do whilst Luke Cole currently is on the bubble in the top five.

The series regulars will have a tough battle this weekend with quality Gippsland regulars joining the field at both rounds including Gary Bowden, Adrian Densley, Adam Greenwood, Mark Laity, Roddy Dennison, Peter Logue & Peter Laity adding to the challenge and there is every chance that one of these drivers might just come away a winner ahead of the series leaders.

Series second placed racer Pete Green shared some thoughts coming up to the weekend. “Team Green are looking forward to the road trip however we know both nights will be real tough with the hard to beat locals. It’s been a couple of years since we raced at Bairnsdale and we have never done Rosedale so our plan is to do what we have to in order to finish both nights.”

Pete’s comments give support to what was mentioned earlier in the release and Green went on to also say. “Our confidence is high knowing we can compete with this seasons front runners & we will be giving it our best. My two sons (aged 15 & 18) are my crew & have both helped in calling the shots each week and have been awesome. We would like to thank our supporters, Active Electrical Distributors, Clipsal, Salt Electrical, Gauge Works Custom Cycles, Coppe Concrete, AG Kelly Landscaping, Mark Haby Motors, Garden City Auto Wreckers & Cooks Transport.”

The Parr Motorsport series round winners pick up a $500 voucher to spend at Parr Motorsports whilst the big prizes at the end of the series total $5000 in value for the top ten with a $1250 brand new complete front end supplied to the series winner by Parr Motorsports.
