• Following the successful George Tatnell Cup a fortnight ago the Sprintcars are back at Speedway City this Saturday night (February 20) for round 8 of the Revolution Racegear Track Championship. Currently Steven Caruso holds the points lead by a little over 60 points over his older Brother Mark Caruso, but with Mark not competing this weekend the points chase is set to be shaken up.

Rookie 410ci racer Sam Putland currently sits in third only 69 points behind Mark Caruso while Luke Bowey is a further 82 points back. With four rounds remaining, including the round this weekend, it has really become a race in four but Matt Egel can’t be discounted despite the fact he has missed two rounds. He currently sits sixth overall just behind Steven Lines, who will miss round 8 with his Western Australian racing duties.

Along with Caruso, Putland, Bowey and Egel, the field this Saturday night will consist of a further 12 competitors but there is still the possibility of a couple of late entries that could push the field to at least 18 cars.

Round 4 winner Daniel Pestka will be back in action this weekend and he won’t be chasing points, just the overall win so he will definitely be one to watch along with the likes of Keke Falland, Brendan Guerin, Hayden Pitt, Brock Hallett, Shannon Barry, Brendan Quinn and Justin Sloan.

Mildura based competitor Terry Kelly will make his first appearance at Speedway City for the season becoming the 42nd driver to compete at one or more Revolution Racegear Track Championship rounds this summer.

To this point in the series the round winners have been Steven Lines (3), Mark Caruso, Daniel Pestka, Matt Egel and Brooke Tatnell (1).

The meeting will also feature a huge support program including the mighty Speedcars, who will contest the Bert Fenton Memorial, Super Sedans, Wingless Sprints, AMCA Nationals, Street Stocks and Junior Sedans.
