• This Saturday night (March 12) the Sprintcars are back at Speedway City with Round 9 of the Revolution Racegear Track Championship. In addition to the 410ci Sprintcars the Wingless Sprints will also share top billing with competitive fields in both classes set to take on the 430 metre Speedway City clay oval.

With only three rounds of the series remaining Steven Caruso remains in the box seat to take out the Track Championship but rookie 410ci racer Sam Putland is emerging as his major threat along with Luke Bowey, who currently sits in fourth. Third placed Mark Caruso has taken himself out of contention as he will miss his second consecutive event this weekend.

But in addition to the top drivers in the overall points all eyes will be on two of the best young talents in Australian Sprintcar racing who have nothing to race for other than the win on Saturday. Matt Egel and Brad Keller are not chasing points so all they care about is capturing another feature race victory.

Other drivers who will be keen for a strong run include last start winner Keke Falland, Brock Hallett, last round runner-up Brendan Quinn, Justin Sloan and Michael Burford.

The Wingless Sprints have produced some outstanding racing this season and that trend is set to continue with another quality line-up of drivers. South Australian Champion Joel Chadwick is back from his recent trip to the Australian Championship with his main aim being to continue his unbeaten run this season. Joining Chadwick will be the likes of Matthew Kennedy, Brett Ireland, Michael Spoljaric, Spencer Taylor and William Caruso therefore it should be another entertaining night from the V6 powered Sprintcars.

The Formula 500’s will complete the open wheeled theme with a field of 11 drivers nominated. Considering the category was only added to the program in the last week this is a great turn out. The field includes some of the best in the state with Lachie Cates, Ross Miller, Rory Stevenson and Brad Stell all expected to be towards the front.

Unfortunately this Saturday night will see a slightly depleted field of Super Sedans with series leader Dave Gartner racing in Victoria and several other local competitors choosing not to race. But despite a small field the racing should still be intense as Michael Miller and Ryan Alexander attempt to capitalise on the opportunity that Gartner has provided and take over the JD Couriers Super Series lead. They will be joined by veteran Robbie Marchant, Kaleb Perrett and rookie Kym Jury.

The support classes will be rounded out by a small field of Street Stocks due to fact a majority of the locals will be racing at Ballarat this weekend as they contest the Australian Street Stock Championship.

    General Admission Prices:
    Adults: $20
    Concession: $15
    12-15 years: $10
    11 & Under: FREE
    Programme: $5

Racing at “South Australia’s Home of Speedway” will kick off at 5:30pm.

Don’t forget about the huge Easter Kids Night to follow on Sunday March 27, 2016 that is set to feature a CARAVAN, BOAT & DUNNY DERBY, a MONSTER FIREWORKS DISPLAY, the SA LEGEND CAR TITLE and THE SPEEDWAY SHOP SPEEDCAR STAMPEDE along with the MJS Tree & Stump Junior Sedans Easter Cup, Wingless Sprints Easter Cup, V6 Sprints and Street Stocks.
