A quality field of Street Stocks will be on hand at Hi-Tec Oils Speedway in Toowoomba on new years eve when fourteen drivers will contest the Edge Automotive & Performance Mountaineers Cup.

The Mountaineers Cup will see a first for the division in Toowoomba with the twenty lap feature race will be run in ten laps either direction. In street Stock racing, the flip of the coin determines the direction of racing each time the competitors enter the track, and this weekend’s feature will be no different apart from once lap ten is completed, a competition yellow light will be held and all competitors will turn around and line back up and re-commence the feature back in the other direction.

After winning that nailing biting Street Stock feature race in Toowoomba earlier this month, Toowoomba’ s Ben Langton will be one of the form locals too watch this Sunday night. He will be joined by fellow local Toowoomba Top Guns in Rick Cunning, Nic Stein and Robert Trapp who has featured on the podium a few times this season.

A surprise nomination among the field with a Toowoomba connection is the former back to back Tasmanian Street Stock Champion Chris Nicholls who is the brother of the events major sponsor and will jump into Toowoomba’s Jarrod Iacono Street Stock who is unable to attend due to other commitments. Although Nicholls hasn’t raced for a few seasons, this nomination has certainly captured the imagination of a lot of people aroud the country and will no doubt see a lot of people turned in to clayperview.com around the country.
