This Labour Day weekend Saturday March 10th and 11th will see a strong field of Super Sedans compete for the Bendigo Specialist Brake & Clutch Super Sedan Gold Rush with some of Australia’s big gun’s in town to compete with the local Victorian hard chargers led by Bendigo and Goulburn Valley’s own top competitors including Ash Bergmeier, Brad Wicks and Adam Box.

Super Sedans will have support from the visiting Mini Sprints on Saturday night and the Victorian Sprintcar Association on Sunday night whilst across both nights, Goulburn Valley’s local heroes’ in the Open Saloons, Production Sedans, Ladies and Juniors will give fans plenty to cheer about across the weekend.

Queensland champion Matty Pascoe and South Australian and Victorian champion Dave Gartner lead the interstate challenge that also includes Trent Wilson, Trevor Ware, Paul Blenkiron, Ryan Alexander and Kym Jury.

Pascoe just finished runner up in the Australian title whilst Alexander was fifth in the same race in Sydney. The best of this weekend’s competing Victorians at that event was Mick Nicola Snr followed by Wicks down further on the finishers list.

Those two and Bergmeier and Peter Nicola in particular will be looking to defend Victorian turf with three heats on the first night and preliminary finals followed by two more heats and finals on night two for the Super Sedans.

The Mini Sprints has a local flavour with local competitors Ally and Matt Moore. Danny Stone from Sydney is down to compete for his third meeting in Victoria this season and is on speed, the driver to beat. Darren Schnoor and his son Owen will be keen to give Stone a tough time at getting to the line first, whilst Burleigh hopes to capitalise on a good run at the Victorian title recently.

Sprintcars visit Rushworth on Sunday night after competing the night before in Ballarat. New Victorian champion Mark Laity leads the nominations with both Victoria 2 and 3 also competing on Sunday night. Adam Greenwood and Alistair Bastian will keep Laity busy as will Shane Steenholdt a driver who had bad luck at the recent Victorian title and is super quick.

The chase for points to be the club champion in the Open Saloons, Production Sedans, Ladies Saloons and Junior Sedans continues with a handful of meetings left in the season.

Extra special entertainment for all on Saturday night will be the Mr Skye Candy Firework show before the night is done. Mr Skye Candy will be involved both nights, however the Saturday night show is the big one for Fireworks enthusiasts.

Racing begins from 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday with entry costs on each separate night $25 per adult, aged pensioners are $15, kids 12 to 16 are $12.50 each and under the age of 12 is FREE, whilst a family of 2 adults and 2 kids 12 to 16 is $60
