• Kodee Brown was more than happy with his return to racing at the Perth Motorplex on Thursday night, before a huge crowd at the Boxing Day event for Late Models.

Brown who has had an extended layoff from racing looked a little rusty in his opening heat, but was very quickly back where he was accustomed, winning the second heat of the night, and would start out of position ten for the A Main.

Brown was running the spare motor in the car, and despite finishing well back in the field in the A Main, Brown was more than happy with his opening night performance.

“Yeh bloody oath mate. The engine didn’t really have too much of an influence last night. Was barely on the throttle most of the night. After the first heat we made some changes to the car for the second heat and the car was awesome, really nice to drive mate, and well balanced through the slick stuff. We were going to give the car a few tweaks for the feature because we thought we were pretty close with what we had in it, but when we were told we were out of ten for the feature, we decided to go a bit stupid with the car and try some different stuff and some different shocks under the car and we were junk”, said Brown.

“I could barely turn the car”, he joked. “But all good mate. We got a few scratches on the car now, so I can forget about having to look after the thing now for next week”, he added.

Brown will be looking to replicate his performance when the title was last held at the Perth Motorplex, when he became the National Champion, but he is under no illusions how tough the task will be this time around. The Feature race at the Motorplex was won by Kye Blight.
