The Australian Late Model Championship will return to Sungold Stadium, Premier Speedway, Warrnambool in 2021, after the South West Victorian venue was announced as the host track earlier this week.

In what will be the 20th Anniversary Australian Late Model Championship, Premier Speedway will host the event for the second time, following a successful staging of the event in 2017 which saw Tasmania’s Callum Harper stand atop the podium at the completion of the weekend.

The 2021 Australian Late Model Championship will be held over two nights on Friday February 26, 2021 and Saturday February 27, 2021. A Practice and Calcutta Function will also be a part of the festivities on Thursday February 25, 2021.

The current President of Late Model Racing Victoria - Chevy Edwards, was naturally excited to have the Australian Championship return to his home state.

“This is a great outcome for Premier Speedway, Late Model Racing Victoria and all of our members. The planning can now commence to ensure that we host the most successful Australian Late Model Championship to date”, Edwards said.

“2021 also has the added highlight of being the 20th Anniversary of the Championship and Late Model Racing Victoria in conjunction with Premier Speedway will definitely make sure that it is one to remember!”, Edwards added.

The Premier Speedway Club is also excited to have been awarded the opportunity to showcase the very best Late Model Drivers from around Australia.

“We are very grateful that Premier Speedway was seen as a suitable host venue for the Late Model National Title and we cant wait to get into working with the Late Model National body and also Late Model Racing Victoria to assist in making the Title worthy of its 20 year Anniversary”, Premier Speedway General Manager David Mills said.

In 2017 when we held the Australian Late Model Championship for the first time it proved to be a successful event for all concerned and we look forward to making the 2021 event equally as successful for all concerned”, Mills added.

The 2020 Australian Late Model Championship will be held at the Perth Motorplex this week, with the hard charging Paul Stubber the defending Champion.
