• While there is so much uncertainty surrounding whether any speedway events will be able to be run this season, Speedway Sedans Australia and the management team of Latrobe Speedway have decided to extend when nominations close for the National Steeet Stock Title until more information and clear direction becomes available.

Currently the SSA Title website is down undergoing unscheduled maintenance, however its hoped that it should be rectified early this week. Once the website is restored, drivers will be able to continue to nominate for the upcoming SSA National Street Stock and Production Sedan Title for that matter.

We completely understand the stress and financial uncertainty that the unknowns puts on everyone, but rest assured as soon as we have definite answers we will release it as soon as possible. It should be noted that in the event that this or any other SSA National Title doesnt go ahead, all national title nomination fees will be refunded in full.

Speedway Sedan Australia is committed to hosting all 3 upcoming National Titles and we are looking at all options with the associated venues to be able to ensure everyone remains safe, risks are minimized to drivers, officials, volunteers and fans and for the venues hosting the event doesnt place them into financial burden by attempting to a run an event that could attract a small crowd. As we saw at numerous venues around the country last night, the majority had very small crowds which is understandable given the media attention around COVID-19.

SSA understands how much these events cost the host tracks to put on, and also know the costs associated for drivers traveling to take part in them. Thats why all options are being carefully considered if any of these events get the opportunity to go ahead.

There is so much uncertainty and unknowns at this point, however Speedway Sedans Australia is in constant discussions with Speedway Australia and venue operators along with talking to relevant authorities as information comes to hand and will remain agile and willing to adapt as much as possible to give us all the best possible opportunity to host these national titles this season.

We are all in this together and we hope everyone understands that this is a difficult time for everyone involved. Please be assured that Speedway Sedans Australia will continue to do the very best for everyone where possible.

We do encourage everyone to be safe, practice good hygiene and continue to observe all recommendations proved by the Australian government and the department of health.

We are sorry that we dont have more information at this point, but we are very busy behind the scenes as the COVID-19 situation develops.

    Ends release
