• This Saturday night (February 24) the 410ci Sprintcars will take to the revamped B&S Earthworks Timmis Speedway in Mildura for the first time as the Sprintcars SA Southern Shootout Series rolls into Mildura with 26 drivers from across Australia currently nominated. Not only will it be the first time that Sprintcars have raced the new configeration, it will be the first open Sprintcar event since the Col Beasley Classic in 2017, when Jamie Veal drove to victory.

This weekend will be the first time that a round of the Southern Shootout Series has been conducted outside of South Australia and the event is being proudly presented by The Gateway & Verde – Mildura.

The current line-up includes some of the best Sprintcar drivers and teams in Australia with the likes of former Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic Champion Brock Hallett, current series points leader Luke Dillon, current South Australian Champion Matt Egel, 2023 Battle of the Bridge winner and four-time National 360ci Champion Ryan Jones, former SRA Series and Victorian State Champion Daniel Pestka and Queensland Champion Ryan Newton among the star-studded nomination list.

Joining the drivers already mentioned will be leading South Australians Chad Ely, who is former Australian 360ci Champion, Loxton’s Keke Falland, Lachlan McDonough, Current Australian 360ci Champ Mark Caruso, Steven Caruso, Terry Pitt, Mike Fox, Mount Gambier based rookie Parker Scott and former Mildura resident Corey Sandow.

In addition to Brock Hallett and Ryan Newton, who will be substituting in the Colin McQuinn owned Chief Racing #V6 for Cam Waters who will be in action at Bathurst, several other interstate drivers will take in the Sprintcars SA sanctioned event including Young (NSW) resident Jackson Delamont. Additional Victorian entries include Portland’s Adam King, former SRA feature winner Ash Cook, Brett Smith, Todd Moule, rookie Jacob Pitcher and Warrnambool’s Will Carroll, who will drive the #NT25 for car owner Dave McFadden.

Local Mildura residents Jason Bolitho, Jay Brown and Lloyd Bahr will also be out to impress in front of their local sponsors and fans.

The event format will see hot laps, time trials, a single round of heat races, a dash / shootout, a B-Main and the all important Sprintcars SA Southern Shootout $4,000 to win A-Main.
